In his series “Soldiers’ Angels,” photographer Philip Cheung focuses on Army mortuary affairs specialists in Afghanistan. They are responsible for “the retrieval, identification, preparation, preservation and transportation of the dead.” They are also the ones who meticulously wrap the soldiers in the American flag.
