Yes, all of these congressmen currently declaring their fidelity to the Constitution didn’t seem to mind taking an axe to it when it came time to sign the Patriot Act.
Growing up in a predominantly Amish community known for its scrapple, chow chow and hog maw, it’s not surprising that cartoonist Jen Sorensen’s sense of humor is exaggerated, outlandish and down right amazing. And we’re not just saying that, either. Jen’s stuff is featured regularly in the Village Voice, Daily KOS and MAD Magazine, and has won seven awards from the Association of Alternative Newsweeklies, including first place just this past year. Unless you live under a rock, you know by now that the United States is entrenched amid a flurry of talks–OK, more like ceaseless, senseless back-and-forth shrieking–re: what the hell we’re going to do about these instruments whose sole purpose is to kill others. The right, blinded by its intransigent ideological piety (but only when it’s convenient), claims that the right to own a gun trumps the right to, well, not be shot by one.
